Hawaii has the most expensive energy costs in the nation: $.19 to $.52 per kWh on average. And it just got worse. In September 2009, the Public Utilities Commission in Hawaii approved a rate increase of 24.8% for Oahu Schedule J Commercial Rates. Schedule G Commercial Rates increased 18.9%.
